From One Woman’s Vision to a City’s Highest Honor

ESL Philippines Directress Paola Camacho Receives Dangal ng Baliwag Award for Education.

Because when passion meets purpose, the whole city takes notice.

On its 11th year of transformative education, ESL Philippines celebrates not only the breakthroughs it has delivered to thousands of learners—but the woman whose vision built it from the ground up. On May 2025, ESL’s Founding Directress, Ms. Paola Eunice V. Camacho, received the Dangal ng Baliwag Award for Education—a prestigious recognition from the City Government of Baliwag that honors exemplary individuals whose work uplifts the community and inspires generations.

Chosen from a select group of nominees, Ms. Camacho was honored under the Education category, one of the most meaningful pillars of this annual citywide recognition program. Dangal ng Baliwag celebrates excellence in public service, entrepreneurship, community impact, and leadership across various fields—placing this award among the highest honors a Baliwagenyo can receive.

A Story of Faith, Perseverance, and Purpose

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Ms. Camacho reflected on the deeply personal journey behind this milestone:

“Who would’ve thought that just last December, after 10 years of pouring into ESL Philippines, I quietly wondered if it was time to close the curtain… But in His faithfulness, the Lord sustained us and reminded us that the mission must continue—for more children, for inclusion, and for the dreams of those who never stopped believing in what we started.”

“I offer this to the Lord, my shield and my glory. To Bernice, my why and constant inspiration. To my dad Teody and our family, my foundation and source of strength. And to my ESL team—thank you for serving with me, standing beside me, and carrying the mission even when it felt heavy.”

Her message resonated with many—not just as an award acceptance, but as a testimony to resilience, faith, and leadership rooted in service.

ESL Philippines: The Breakthrough Learning Center

The Dangal ng Baliwag award is not just a celebration of Ms. Camacho’s personal grit—it is also a resounding recognition of the impact of ESL Philippines, the inclusive, progressive learning center she founded in 2013.

What began as a modest tutorial center has grown into an educational powerhouse, offering some of the most innovative, science-backed, and learner-centered programs available in the country today.

Here’s a look at ESL’s core programs:

  • Brainy Babies, Smart Kids Junior, Smart Kids Senior – Early language, social, and cognitive development for toddlers.
  • Little Champs – ESL’s early intervention program designed to support children with developmental delays and learning differences through adaptive, inclusive approaches.
  • ProRead – The country’s first and only progressive reading system, exclusively designed by ESL.
  • Savvy Speakers – An English proficiency program recognized by The Cosmos Journal, focusing on fluency and confidence.
  • Personality Development Workshop – Builds emotional intelligence and stage presence for preteens and teens.
  • Math Wizard – A math mastery program that promotes problem-solving through smart strategies.
  • Top Students – Academic mentorship designed to groom consistent achievers.
  • ESL Global Academy – ESL’s official online platform, offering virtual classes to Filipino learners worldwide.

And these are just the regulars. Annual summer camps, performing arts workshops, and other limited-time programs bring seasonal magic to thousands of learners each year.

Under Ms. Camacho’s leadership, each program has been crafted to fill the critical gaps left by traditional education systems—offering targeted solutions, inclusion-first designs, and research-based instruction to learners who need it most.

Innovation and Inclusion: Her Legacy in the Making

The Dangal ng Baliwag award does not only recognize academic expertise—it celebrates impact. And in the education sector, impact means making learning breakthroughs possible where others fall short.

At ESL, this takes shape in many ways:

  • Creating dyslexia-sensitive programs that help struggling readers thrive.
  • Offering neurodiversity-informed strategies for children with developmental needs.
  • Running community-based projects through Grateful Goodwill, ESL’s advocacy arm that provides reading scholarships and support to public school children.
  • Equipping teachers through ongoing training, research, and global exposure.

Ms. Camacho has consistently pushed boundaries not for recognition, but because every child matters. Her fight for equity in education, her commitment to early intervention, and her pursuit of innovation continue to make ESL Philippines a standard-bearer for what modern education can and should be.

A Community’s Pride, A City’s Inspiration

By honoring Ms. Camacho with the Dangal ng Baliwag award, the city acknowledges a decade—and counting—of quiet yet powerful service to learners, educators, and families. Her story is a reminder that true change begins with the courage to start, the grit to stay, and the grace to keep going.

To the City Government of Baliwag, to Mayor Ferdie Estrella and the awarding panel—thank you for recognizing a mission that serves not just students, but a community’s future.

To Ms. Camacho, your journey proves that educators change the world—not in one day, but every single day.

Built to Serve, Now Built to Scale

As ESL Philippines enters its second decade, this recognition also comes at a time of expansion. The center is now officially open to franchising, allowing aspiring partners across the Philippines to bring the ESL breakthrough model to their own communities.

With a strong foundation in research, a deep commitment to inclusion, and a track record of life-changing results, ESL isn’t just building better students—it’s shaping better futures.
