Barangay Hinukay is a village in Baliwag, Bulacan with a population of over 2,000 residents, located along the Baliwag–Candaba area. As one of the farther barangays in the town, organized celebrations and outreach programs are not always easily accessible—making moments of community gathering especially meaningful, particularly for children.
It was for this reason that ESL Philippines chose Hinukay as the beneficiary community for the ESL Outreach Program: From Eslians, With Love.
The outreach was designed not merely as a gift-giving activity, but as a complete Christmas experience—one where children could feel joy, inclusion, and genuine care. More than 100 children were welcomed into a day filled with praise and worship, games, shared laughter, and surprises, transforming the gathering into a true Christmas celebration.
A highlight of the program was the magic show, which brought excitement and wonder to the children, allowing them to experience Christmas as it should be—playful, joyful, and full of light. For many, it was a rare opportunity to simply enjoy the season without worry.
This celebration was made possible through the collective generosity of the ESL community. ESL families, students, teachers, and partners donated toys and clothes, shared food, and prepared Noche Buena packs so families could continue celebrating together at home. Each contribution reflected a shared commitment to serve beyond the classroom.
What made the outreach truly impactful was the time spent together. ESL volunteers engaged with the children—playing, listening, and sharing moments that went beyond material gifts. These interactions reinforced a simple but powerful message: you are seen, you matter, and you are not forgotten.
This initiative reflects ESL Philippines’ belief that education and compassion go hand in hand. As the organization continues to grow, this outreach model is intentionally passed on to our branches and franchisees, encouraging each center to bless their own local communities and create meaningful, child-centered impact wherever they are planted.
From Eslians, with love, this outreach was a reminder that when communities come together with purpose, Christmas becomes more than a season—it becomes an experience children can carry with them long after the celebration ends.
