Some children need more time to join group activities. Others may find it hard to follow classroom routines or express what they feel. These are common differences in the early years of learning. Sometimes, a child just needs extra support to feel ready.
The signs are not always big. A child may stay quiet, hesitate to join, or need more help than others. These small things matter.
This is where Little Champs comes in.
Helping Children Get Ready for Group Learning Step by Step

The Little Champs Program is ESL Philippines’ early support program for young children who need extra help in areas like communication, behavior, or classroom readiness. It follows the RA 11650 and the ECCD Act, which support inclusive education for every learner in the Philippines.
This program is not therapy or a medical service. It provides classroom-based support in a safe and caring environment. Little Champs helps children build the skills they need to join group classes with confidence.
Why Early Support Matters?

Studies show that when children receive support early, their learning, behavior, and social skills improve over time. The early years are a critical period for brain development. Without timely support, small delays can grow into larger challenges, especially as school demands increase.
According to the National Joint Committee on Learning Disabilities (2021), early identification followed by high-quality early intervention programs improves learning and behavior and increases a child’s ability to succeed in school. These programs often include educational support, speech and language therapy, physical activities, and family guidance based on the child’s unique needs.
Global experts and the United Nations, through the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), emphasize that early intervention is a right. They call on governments and communities to provide services as early as possible to help children reach their full potential and stay with their families.
Early intervention not only supports the child. It also strengthens the skills of parents and teachers, helping everyone work together toward a child’s growth. Supporting children early builds a strong foundation for learning, boosts their confidence, and promotes inclusion in everyday life. For these reasons, early identification is not just helpful. It is essential.
In the absence of early educational support, these children face greater challenges as they move through formal schooling. By focusing on functional needs over formal diagnoses, Little Champs ensures that no child is left behind due to delayed recognition of support needs.
What Makes Little Champs Different?

Little Champs is a structured and caring early support system for young children who need help with behavior, communication, or classroom readiness. It is designed to notice early signs of delay and respond with practical, child-friendly support.
The program is led by trained Educational Interventionists, with close guidance from SPED professionals and ABA-informed Inclusion Coordinators. This team works together to give each child the support they need to feel safe, included, and ready to learn.
Every child begins with a Developmental Screening. This helps identify areas that may need support, such as speech, attention, or social skills. If needed, the child moves on to an Assessment for Early Intervention (AEI) to better understand how they learn and what support strategies will help. Based on this, an Individualized Curriculum Plan (ICP) is created. This plan includes clear learning goals, daily teaching strategies, and specific supports matched to the child’s needs.
Progress is closely tracked after each session. Parents are updated regularly and receive a formal Progress Summary every four to six weeks. When the child is ready, a Transition Summary is prepared. The child is then guided into a group class, along with added support like shadow teaching, flexible scheduling, or classroom accommodations.
What sets it apart:
- Focuses on needs, not labels.
- Open to all children, with or without diagnosis.
- Parents and therapists are part of the process.
- Follows Philippine laws on inclusive education.
